This is a beginners class, where taxidermist Sherene will teach you the process of skinning, cleaning and manikin making before putting your mouse back together.

With a vision to preserve the beauty of life and death, professionally trained & licensed taxidermist Sherene Scott created Moth Studios to bring this peculiar practice to other curious creatives. Member of the UK Guild of Taxidermists since 2010, all Sherene’s specimens are obtained & preserved lawfully, responsibly & respectfully. With a degree in Fine Art and qualification as a Youth Worker, Sherene has taught the art of taxidermy to beginners from all backgrounds for six years. Recognised as one of the top 10 young entrepreneurs of the North East, her work has also been published everywhere from BBC One to Buzzfeed.
You’re gonna love this… we’re now hosting our taxidermy specific workshops from our city centre location. Situated under the Tyne Bridge at the Quayside, the space is accessible via bus, metro, train, car and by foot. We are located at 10-12 Akenside Hill, Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne NE13XP. There is parking outside of the shop (Use off street parking)or the closest multi-story parking is “Dean Street Multi-story” or Quayside Multi-story”
No creatures are killed for this art! All of Moth Studios’ specimens used in classes and in works are responsibly and legally obtained. The animals come from aviaries, sanctuaries, road kill, pet stores, pest control, natural deaths in the wild and sometimes pets. We do not violate any legal laws nor do we support anyone who practices this.
Please arrive on time. If you’re late, we will assume you aren’t attending the workshop.
If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 please DO NOT attend the session.
Moth Studios will provide latex gloves & sanitising stations to keep hygiene levels to standard throughout the workshop day.
